Debbie Look graduated as a physiotherapist from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1991 and has worked locally in public as well as private setting in all areas of physiotherapy. After years of training in different areas, she decided to specialize in the area of musculoskeletal. She attained her first master degree in manipulative physiotherapy at Curtin University in 1998 and second master degree in sports physiotherapy at University of Queensland in 2002. Within these years, she gained wide spectrum of clinical experience in treating spinal dysfunction and sports injury cases in busy private setting locally and in Australia. Debbie has worked at Wellington Street Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy Centre before joining Hong Kong Sports Institute at 2003. The professional qualification and experience in musculoskeletal area has made her to be a clinical educator for the physiotherapy undergraduates and postgraduates of Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2000 as well as musculoskeletal specialist at Sports Medicine Department in Hong Kong Sports Institute since 2003.
During the years at Hong Kong Sports Institute, Debbie had the opportunity to lead the department in its professional development and had many valuable clinical experiences in working with many difficult musculoskeletal cases especially in the area of spinal, shoulder, knee and ankles. Debbie understands the importance of clinical diagnosis together with experience manual techniques and exercise base approach can help the client to ease the pain and clear the dysfunction. She has also gained vast experience working as Hong Kong Medical Team Delegate for major games and international competitions including Doha Asian Games 2006 and Beijing Olympic Games 2008.
Debbie is also a sports enthusiast and is involving in badminton, swimming and scuba diving. With her professional background and experience, she has interested in the area of spinal dysfunction especially in the area of cervico-thoracic region and lumbo-pelvic region, lower limb biomechanics, shoulder and ankle dysfunction and muscle recruitment patterning. Debbie is a native Cantonese speaker whom speaks excellent English and Mandarin.
